About this listen
The FY2025-2026 CISA International Strategic Plan outlines the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) approach to enhancing global cybersecurity and infrastructure resilience. Recognizing that threats do not respect borders, the plan aims to strengthen international partnerships to safeguard critical systems essential to U.S. national security and economic stability.
The strategy focuses on three main goals:
- Bolster the Resilience of Foreign Infrastructure on Which the U.S. Depends–CISA seeks to identify and protect foreign critical infrastructure that supports U.S. systems, mitigating risks from cyberattacks and physical threats.
- Strengthen Integrated Cyber Defense–By fostering international cooperation, CISA aims to improve collective cyber defense capabilities, increase information sharing, and promote Secure by Design principles.
- Unify Agency Coordination of International Activities–CISA plans to streamline its internal governance, align resources, and train its workforce to effectively engage in international security efforts.
The plan aligns with broader U.S. national security strategies and emphasizes collaboration with public and private partners globally. By enhancing resilience, improving risk awareness, and influencing global cybersecurity policies, CISA aims to protect the infrastructure that underpins U.S. and global security.
