About this listen
Severing a cherished relationship is one of the most painful experiences in life - and cutting those emotional ties to a loved one can feel almost like ending an addiction. Up till now, people recovering from other problems were able to get real help - like AA and rehab - while those struggling in the aftermath of traumatic breaks dealt with platitudes and friends insisting they should "get over it already". But now Exaholics Anonymous treats getting over an ex like kicking a chemical habit.
Written by counselor and therapist Dr. Lisa Bobby, Exaholics offers meaningful support and advice to anyone trapped in the obsessive pain of a broken, or dying, attachment. She helps the brokenhearted heal, showing them, on a deep level, how to develop a conceptual framework for their experience, understand the emotional processes at work inside themselves, find the path to recovery, and free themselves of shame, injured ego, and remorse. In-depth case studies of others' journeys will illuminate the way to future happiness.

What I needed to hear
Although quite a long listen, it sets the stage so to cover all sorts of relationships and situations. I believe in doing so this book may help anyone how was left behind in a breakup (the one that still has the love) for their partner.
It definitely helped me process and move on to a better place. Thanks.

Perfect after a rough break up. Anyone of any age or situation.
If you are lucky you will find this book before you encounter the messy and perhaps shameful choices you don’t see coming after a breakup. So great full to have found this. Thank you.

Exholics
This is the worse book I had ever read on advice regarding relationships breaks ups.
It dribbled for pretty much the entire book on the heartbroken symptoms and people feel and go through plus long stories of relationships break ups but no concrete advice on how to tackle the addiction aside for the very last chapter given childish and all too known 12 steps to overcome addiction to an ex … one specifically obvious and so repetitive “ no contact rule “ there was no real technics and actual practical functional and effective ideas to overcome addiction to an ex… a complete flop !!!!! In fact I will delete it from my library!
