About this listen
Includes a brand-new afterword read by the author!
A respected, longtime Republican strategist, ad maker, and contributor for The Daily Beast skewers the disease that is destroying the conservative movement and burning down the GOP: Trumpism.
In Everything Trump Touches Dies, political campaign strategist and commentator Rick Wilson brings his darkly funny humor and biting analysis to the absurdity of American politics in the age of Trump. Wilson mercilessly exposes the damage Trump has done to the country, to the Republican Party he served for decades, and to the conservative movement that has abandoned its principles for the worst president in American history.
No left-winger, Wilson is a lifelong conservative who delivers his withering critique of Trump from the right. A leader of the Never Trump movement, he warns his own party of the political catastrophe that leaves everyone involved with Trump with reputations destroyed and lives in tatters.
Wilson unblinkingly dismantles Trump’s deceptions and the illusions to which his supporters cling, shedding light on the guilty parties who empower and enable Trump in Washington and the news media. He calls out the race-war dead-enders who hitched a ride with Trump, the alt-right basement dwellers who worship him, and the social conservatives who looked the other way.
Everything Trump Touches Dies deftly chronicles the tragicomic Trump story from the early campaign days through the shock of election night to the inconceivable train wreck of Trump's first year. Rick Wilson provides not only an insightful analysis of the Trump administration but also an optimistic path forward for the GOP, the conservative movement, and the country.
Combining insider political analysis, blunt truths, and black humor, Everything Trump Touches Dies is perfect for those on either side of the aisle who need a dose of unvarnished reality, a good laugh, a strong cocktail, and a return to sanity in American politics.

Very enlightening
Well written, with a touch of humour in parts that made me smile and very very truthful. A highly recommended read.

Hopelessly out of date
I wonder how the author feels about being so wrong about so many things? His views on Trump are spot on, but he can't help sing the praises of the Republican party. He appears to be jealous of the Obamas and Nancy Pelosi. Sorry, dude. You've been backing the wrong horse for decades. Trump's just the idiot who made it obvious to you.

An entertaining and acerbic take on Trump
I've gone down a rabbit hole of Trump books, and this one was refreshing in a few ways.
Firstly, any pretence of journalistic neutrality is gone. That isn't a critique per se (I have no reason to disbelieve the content - this guy seems to have lived in the thick of it for years). What it does mean is that often the author is utterly vitriolic, which actually adds a bit of spice and humour that many of these Trump books have lacked.
Also interesting is the fact that this one isn't written by a liberal and/or Democrat. From what I can tell this guy is a long time Republican insider, but moreso of the old-school type that existed before Trump turned the party into a freakish circus. The author has heavy criticisms of the Democrat approach littered throughout this, so it's not the classic 'Democrat dumps on Trump' exercise.
As usual, the anecdotes about the inner workings of the Trump Whitehouse are shocking and maddening. This author is angry, and he spills the beans on a lot of the Trump players with abandon. Some good insights here, unvarnished by pretensions of niceties. He is gunning for people he hates, and his stories show he has good reasons for this hatred. So much awful behaviour in these stories.
So - worth a listen, as while it's yet another of the growing 'Trump is a fool' genre, but it has a distinctly different flavour and some really entertaining passages. Recommended.

Waste of time
After reading the great books by reporters Confidence Man, I alone can fix it, Landslide, and others, this brings nothing new to the Trump story. Sorry, but it’s a cliche-ridden rant, full of worn out platitudes, and a vulgar one at that.
