About this listen

I was dreading the Cunningham family reunion even before the first murder.

Before the storm stranded us at the mountain resort, snow and bodies piling up.

The thing is, us Cunninghams don't really get along. We've only got one thing in common: we've all killed someone.

My brother.

My step-sister.

My wife.

My father.

My mother.

My sister-in-law.

My uncle.

My stepfather.

My aunt.

Me.

A killer read

A clever and wonderful read. A whodunnit with so many twists and turns that I almost needed a chiropractor. The narrator actually speaks to the reader as if you're right there and even tells you what chapters the murders will happen. All the do's and don'ts of writing a murder mystery are laid out and he makes sure he keeps to his word throughout the book, helping you solve the mystery (but he still manages to get plenty of surprises in).

A superb read (or listen if on audible - Barton Welch did a fabulous job) that has me now looking up Benjamin's other titles.

Excellent.

Excellent book.

Excellent narration.

The very start threw me a bit, it deserved more of my attention and I was a bit distracted. It was unexpected, referencing what was going to happen. I loved it.

Great Australian Author!

Surprisingly wholesome for a book of murder and betrayal. Humorous, too, but serious where it needs to be. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bold Storytelling, Hugely Entertaining

If the title and plot outline of this book appealed to you, it won't disappoint. It is what you hoped - a unique approach to storytelling, something of a modern farce, clever and surprising.

So intricately woven and constructed, I anticipate enjoying it even more the second time around as I see everything more clearly.

The narration didn't appeal initially but it grew on me.

Best read for ages

Loved this book.. gripping.
Couldn't have had a better narrator... it was as if the narrator was the writer himself.
I'll be looking for more by this author.

captivating

Possibly my best book of 2022. Unable to stop listening! the continuing twists and turns and the interjection of the author with the way is written as a real treat. Really hoping he writes more.

Not really my thing.

This book is a crime novel with a narrator all the way through who writes how-to crime novels.
Not for me.
