A fun yet realistic zombie adventure

This is a really great series. I remember starting it years ago and was really happy to see it available as an audiobook.

The story follows a close knit team over a number of years as fighters drop in and out. There are some fun protagonists and some Big Bang surprises. I found the sentiment hopeful yet littered with the consequences of tough choices.

I think the most important part of these books is the detail that only a modern veteran can deliver. John Holmes doesn’t pretend to be anything he is not, but he knows his stuff and does research to fill in where he needs it.

Read it, listen to it, and enjoy this story.

I’m off to read his next series, ‘Invasion’!
