About this listen
A hilarious new standalone novella brimming with otherworldly charm from the reigning queen of paranormal romantic comedy Molly Harper!
Ingrid Asher is the newest resident of Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where shapeshifters, vampires, witches and dragons live alongside humans.
Ingrid doesn’t ask for much. The solitary tree nymph just wants to live a quiet life running her ice-cream shop in peace. Unfortunately, she can’t seem to shake her new neighbor, Rob Aspern, head of the League’s data science department and so good looking it just isn’t fair.
If there’s one thing Ingrid doesn’t need, it’s someone poking around in her business. But the more she gets to know the hunky mathematician, the more she finds herself letting her guard down. Can she trust him with her secrets, or will her past destroy everything?

Not everyone is out to get everything they want by taking it with out earning first.
I liked that by trusting the right person you can have the life you deserve. I love Zed and his wicked sense of humour.

Nice little novella (book 2.5 Mystic Bayou)
Ingrid and Rob.
I really enjoyed this novella as part of the Mystic Bayou series.
Rob's character is more developed, and we see there's more to him than what we'd got glimpses of in the previous book of the series.
He's a good man and funny, a theme in this series, which is a big 2 thumbs up from me.
Love the humor 👍🏼💗

A quick listen
Even Tree Nymph's Get The Blues is a quick listen in comparison to the previous 2 books in the Mystic Bayou series, it is listed as #2.5 in the series - I don't expect the same storyline development in novella's and usually have lower expectations going in, but this was rather entertaining to listen to.
I really liked Ingrid's snarkiness, and how she tried so hard to keep others at arm's length - her introduction to Zed was very amusing, and the Mystic Bayou locals just keep on trying to befriend her. Some funny conversations ensue between the *newer* locals (Jillian & Dani) due to Ingrid not being used to making small talk.
Rob tried so hard to talk to & get to know Ingrid, it just takes them time to be able to really understand each other :)

A good little novella in this series
A sweet and enjoyable story. Good performances by both narrators. And being able to access this story as part of audible membership rather than paying the larger price is an appreciated bonus.

I'm just loving zed more and more
Molly Harper has done it again and even though this is only a short novella it's a lovely story of how we get to see Ingrid join the mystic Bayou characters.
having little or no experience of men or the residents of the mystic Bayou she comes across as Blunt with a complete lack of humour wihich only serves to make her character even funnier as she discovers her way through life in Mystic Bayou. it also gives us the chance to get to know the resident mathematician Rob.
there is lots of humour , laughing and wit but very little steam in this short story it's more about navigating Ingrid into Society along with Rob's little love interest.
I was is laughing quite loudly at Zeds and Ingrids first meeting he always seems to find himself in trouble much to Baels Delight.
if you want to get serious for a moment and check out the underlying tones that Molly harper is writing it seems she is pointing out that race religion and the different characters put into this town are learning to live with each other and I guess you could parallel that with what society should be trying to do in this day & age.
Jonathan don't stop giving me Zed as he is the highlight of these books and Molly keep writing that banter between the girls and the boys as that too has me laughing and the best medicine a person can get, I believe, is laughter.
Amanda you're different accents make this book come to life as well and I am so looking forward to finishing the series even though it will be sad to say goodbye to all the characters that have made my night just listening

Simply entertaining
Loved the story. Found it fun and entertaining.
Delivered believably and lightheartedly by the narrators - had to listen right to the end.

Even tree nymphs get the blues
A nice little side story away from the mystery. Nice to place another character in the story. I hadn’t realised this one was in the collection so listened to it slightly out of order, but it didn’t distract from the story any.

Good performance but meh characters
I didn’t like these characters as much as the others. Felt like a way to just include an ice cream shop into the Bayou. Not bad, but not my fave. Readers were EXCELLENT though!

Story line lacking
I've enjoyed the Mystic Bayou series, love the narrators, and they were good in this, but they struggled against the truly inferior story line. Undeveloped characters and a rushed story, not even the wonderful quirkiness of the town could dig this one out.

Quirky and humourous
While not as steamy as her previous books, still quite fun and in tune with the rest of her series. I still thoroughly enjoyed, and the narrators continue to amaze with their range of accents!
