Publisher's Summary

Every interaction you have with people, each day of your life, involves social psychology. For those of us who have struggled to fit in or wish we received more invitations to socialize, this relatively new field of study can be eye-opening when it comes to gaining a better understanding of the basics of human interactions.

In this illuminating Audible Original, Professor Wind Goodfriend explores the various facets of social psychology, including how we form personal identities, the importance of perceptions, the human need to be liked and respected, stereotypes and prejudices, and more.

Social psychology can be both fascinating in its own right and, ideally, applicable to your everyday life. It can offer you insights into how you relate to others in your friendships, how other people make judgments about you, how to get others to help you, how to manage your anger and aggression, what power of persuasion you have at your fingertips, and so much more.

Excellent

I thoroughly enjoyed this lecture and learned a great deal.
It was beautifully presented easy to understand but never boring.
If only school lecturers had been this good.
Certainly made me think deeper about human behaviours including my own.

Very good

A very good, approachable overview of the way we all use psychology without noticing it. Very beneficial to listen to, especially the part about being advertised to! Useful for everyday life and case studies are referenced.

Insightful

It was easy to follow, understand and relate to. I especially loved hearing about the experiments that were conducted and their outcomes. It was very telling.

Loved it

This was very interesting and a great mix of technical information and accessible language. The author/narrator did a great job and has a pleasant style. I learned a lot and this really is one of the best “Great Courses” I have tried.

Surprised me

Worth a look. I am someone who was ready to back these guys to the hill even after the 4 corners production.
The behaviour and actions uncovered in this book have really disappointed me.

Yep, no one has had their day in court… I get it.
But if 1% of this is true, you’re not the hard charging heros, fighting to maintain Australian values that I wish you were.

The fact the support staff were the ones to grip you up in the end is insane.

10/10 would recommend everyone read

Informative

Interesting and somewhat controversial topics which both educate and question human interactions and the ethics of studies into the human condition.
