Cierto es, sin embargo, que los más antiguos dinteles y capiteles fechados parecen ser pirenaicos, pero la gran actividad de los escultores pirenaicos no culmina hasta el siglo XII, cuando ya gallegos, castellanos y leoneses habían llenado sus iglesias de hermosos relieves de piedra.
