A teenage girl’s disappearance leads a washed-up investigative reporter, Brie Cardone, to a small town across the Hudson, where she stumbles upon a human trafficking ring luring young girls with promises of freedom and witchcraft. When police chalk the case up as a runaway, Brie solicits the help of NYC Detective Clare Amatto. Following a trail of spells and visions to the leader of a Caribbean Witch Order, they land in hot and humid Cuba, a place Clare, the daughter of exiled Cuban parents, has feared for her entire life.
