About this listen

They say that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it is not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance. There are some situations where the correct response is to display the sort of ignorance that happily and wilfully flies in the face of the facts. In this case, the birth of a baby girl, born a wizard, by mistake.

Everybody knows that there's no such thing as a female wizard. But now it's gone and happened, there's nothing much anyone can do about it. Let the battle of the sexes begin.

Critic Reviews

"If you are unfamiliar with Pratchett's unique blend of philosophical badinage, you are on the threshold of a mind-expanding opportunity." ( Financial Times)

Short but entertaining

Gott to love Pratchett. Robinson does a great job of narration. A pairing that works.

Inequality of peoples rights explored via comedy.

Terry Pratchett has managed to express a small part of what it is like to live in a world where there is inequality. In typical form Terry has broached the topic through dark humour and irony which only makes the real world issues he is dealing with all the more poignant and obvious. A great read/listen for anyone and a belly laughing good adventure.

NOT THE COMPLETE BOOK. CHAPTERS MISSING.

Unfortunate that some chapters are missing because the narration is the better of the only 2 versions Audible has to offer. Tony does a good job of narration but I'm returning this one and will try to endure the grating fairytale ladies voice without gravitas 😒

good but ...

good story but fluctuations in narration volume or pitch made it difficult to listen to as it required regular volume change
