About this listen
President Jack Spiers fled Washington DC on the heels of a devastating attack on CIA headquarters, masterminded by one of America's own, former General Porter Madigan. While the world believes Jack was killed in the bombing, he embarks on a wild infiltration mission, smuggling himself into occupied Russia to rescue the love of his life: former Secret Service Agent and First Gentleman Ethan Reichenbach.
Reunited, Jack, Ethan, and deposed Russian president Sergey Puchkov, along with President Elizabeth Wall - the only person left in Washington DC who Jack trusts - must work together. They piece together a desperate plan, hunting Madigan to the ends of the earth and the bitter frigidity of the Arctic, where Madigan's world-shattering doomsday plan comes together.
Outnumbered, outmaneuvered, and outgunned, Jack, Ethan, Sergey, and the rest of the team struggle to put a stop to Madigan and his army. In the desolate extremes of the Arctic, their resolve, their strength, and even their love is tested, pushed to the absolute limits as choices must be made: choices that pit the fate of the world against the love in their hearts, and the loves of their life.
Contains mature themes.

My heart is destroyed!
The narrator got better with every book (or I got used to his style). He was superb in this.
As for the story... I'm pretty sure I had a few breakdowns in there. The twists. The turns. The intrigue. So much angst. So many betrayals... My heart broke over and over with no reprieve.
And don't even get me started on how intelligent a guy needs to be to write a book like this!!!! WOW!
I'm going to go have a long soak in a bubble bath. Hug a teddy bear. Have a cry. Then go back and start this series again, knowing what happens, because hopefully it's not as soul destroying the second time.

Absolutely Enthralling
I’m not sure how I’m still functioning. This book had me yelling, running like crazy through the house, punching the sofa cushions, shouting and clenching my fists in fury and tension against the cruelty and insanity of Madigan and his men. The twists and turns in this book are absolutely brilliant. The deep and passionate love between Ethan and Jack is truly incredible, beautifully expressed and written with such depth of feeling, as is the love and emotional bond between Sergei and Sasha. My heart was broken for Adam and Faisal but ended in tears of joy at the outcome of their journey. I can’t find the right words to express just how much I absolutely loved this book and the other three in this series. Tal Bauer is a truly a brilliant story telling genius. The narration by John Solo is without question, outstanding ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Review for the series - Fantastic!
Easily, one of the best series I have read in a long time. John Solo did a masterful job of all the voices and the story. Yes, far fetched for some, but isn't that what fiction is all about. I loved every aspect of it. Now a Tal Bauer fan, moving on to the next.
