About this listen

End of Watch is a compelling and chilling suspense novel which sees retired detective Bill Hodges back on the trail of his nemesis, Brady Hartsfield, the criminal the press called The Mercedes Killer.

Foiled in his attempt to commit a second mass murder, Hartsfield is confined to a hospital brain-injury unit in a seemingly unresponsive state. But all is not what it seems: Brady is able to influence both his physician and the hospital librarian to commit crimes in the outside world.

Now the technological genius has created a hypnotic electronic fishing game which compels users to commit suicide, and he is determined to target the three people who put him in hospital: Hodges and his sidekicks, Holly and Jerome.

A fitting ending to the Bill Hodges trilogy.

Overall, it is a classic Stephen King story. I just wished the climax & ending was longer.

A ripping yarn with heart.

Great detective story, number 3 in a trilogy. The narrator (Will Patton) transported me back to the radio plays of old. Will Patton is a very immersing and talented narrator.

Great story. Amazing reading!

I really enjoyed this book, and although the story and writing was riveting, it was the reading, that was 'acted' so brilliantly.

A fitting end...

Great book, action and suspense from the get go. The second book of the trilogy was a little slow but this one certainly made up for that. If you've made it through the second you have to read this one too.

Absolutely loved this series

Characters with depth, great story twists that walk the right rope between natural and supernatural and an incredible narration made this a real joy to listen too. All 3 in the series (+ the Outsider) were so enjoyable, I didn’t want to stop listening.

Great finish to the series!

I have listened to all the books in this series, and this is by far the best. King is the best word-slinger around.

An amazing book, author and narrator!

Would you listen to End of Watch again? Why?

I just finished the trilogy and have to say I absolutely loved it! The narrator was perfect for the stories and bought Bill (and all the characters) to life. Well done Stephen King you have done it again!

What about Will Patton’s performance did you like?

Will Patton was perfect for these books. He is an amazing narrator and I will be finding more books read by him!

Any additional comments?

I wish it didn't have to end!
