About this listen
Mehr is a girl trapped between two cultures. Her father comes from the ruling classes of the empire but her mother's people were outcasts, Amrithi nomads who worshipped the spirits of the sands. Caught one night performing these forbidden rites, Mehr is brought to the attention of the Emperor's most feared mystics, who force her into their service by way of an arranged marriage.
She discovers that her new husband is a mysterious, enslaved Amrithi with abilities like her own: together they must use every ounce of cunning, power and will they possess to resist the order's cruel agenda - and should they fail, the spirits themselves may awaken seeking vengeance....

A charming tale of love born in adversity
This wonderful low fantasy world is woven by its creative author and talented narrator into a colourful tapestry of a background for a heart-warming story of self-finding and love despite prosecution and adversity. Very enjoyable, entertaining and inspirational tale, hope to see more of this new author.

Its pretty good
Loved the MC. Compared to other YA books, this girl has her head on straight.
I’m pretty sure this features Indian folklore, going by the names in the books, and the drips of culture in there. Which is great. I love European set books, but damn I love things set in the Middle East, and Asia too. So extra points for that.
It’s very well written, with a great plot and the story moves smoothly. Author did a great job. I think this is her first book, if so, she smashed it. Honestly, well done.
Narrator was fantastic too.
If you're unsure about listening to this, please do. It’s a great tale.
