The human powers have been pushed to the brink, battered, and almost destroyed. The virus they have invented and deployed, their sole possibility for victory, seems to be too little, too late. There is titanic warfare all around space, massive fleets fighting desperately...but only one side can prevail and rule space for the next 10,000 years.
