Utterly magical, with the right amount of grisly
Willem makes the most incredible fantasy scapes with his words, painting intense picture from the countryside Seb travels through, to the monsters innards splashing across said landscape... seriously addictive, I wish there were beasts to slay in this world so I could have my own heroic fix!

Slow start but loved it
On the last chapter of the book and overwhelmed with sadness .... on how long I have to wait for the second instalment. Felt like a slow start to the story, but the characters really grow on you and the intrigue of the story hooks you in where you are desperate to learn their fate.
A different experience for me as I know the author personally so I giggle a little at some of the references as I can imagine the source ... but the story is compelling, engaging, and leaves you wanting more. What more could you ask of a novel?

Great world with everything a fantasy reader would love
It captures reader from the start, everything you want, beasts, slayers, great characters.
I would definitely recommend this book to fantasy lovers and I eagerly await the second instalment
