About this listen
Cozy up with this warm, festive rom com novella about being true to your heart, the friendships that define us, and the irresistible pull of holiday magic.
Last year, Rachel Bacharach met the man of her dreams at a Hanukkah party — and then her outgoing best friend Tamara swooped in and “called” Oz Caplan for herself. It’s a typical outcome for the dependable, bookish Rachel, who is never able to extinguish the spark she immediately felt for Oz. But being secretly in love with her best friend’s boyfriend all year hasn’t been easy.
As this year’s party approaches, Oz and Tamara break up. It’s a worst-case scenario when Oz asks Rachel to help him write Tamara love letters to win her back in time for their Hanukkah anniversary. Rachel’s been writing love letters to Oz in her journals for a year; she knows all the words he would need. But will Rachel be able to hide her true feelings from Oz any longer? And might this year’s party finally be Rachel’s chance to trust her heart and put everything on the line for love?

Interesting concept but infuriating
Spoilers:
Interesting and faulted characters, but quite infuriating at their obliviousness or inability to look after their own self preservation. Does unrequited love really make someone so helpless and hurtful? the loyalty is commendable, but deliberately putting yourself in a torturous situation is stupid - speak up for yourself, and get out of the situation. And the ex girlfriends "plan" really wasn't well thought out if she actually knew her best friends' personalities. Seemed like a quick way to make the story "work" in the end.

Easy to listen to
This was a nice holiday romance story. For me I wasn't a huge fan of the storyline though and didn't love the main character.

Re interesting and infuriating
Yes absolutely see what you are saying but characters always have their flaws/traits and this is no different from countless other books. I like these characters and hopefully Liz will write another book with them in

Short and Sweet
This is a delightful holiday rom-com novella that perfectly captures the magic of Hanukkah and the complexities of love and friendship. With a charming Cyrano de Bergerac twist, this story will warm your heart and keep you turning pages.
