A great start to the Diable Delamere Series.
This story had it all…espionage, betrayal, ruination, goodies, baddies, and an interesting mix of main & secondary characters - some who become the leads of their own stories throughout the series or have their temporary moments to shine.
Ballsy intelligent Elizabeth is a great match for the frankness of the Duke who provides no illusions to where things stand with him from the start.
This is a story that develops well with an ending I wasn’t expecting. I recommend it and the entire series which I suggest listening to in order for greater impact.

sexy, interesting and captivating
at first I was thinking it was going to be a boring book, it ended up being a Bridgerton , mystery book and I loved it.

Dreadful!
Only made it as far as chapter 4. Couldn’t bare to listen to the terrible French accent that the narrator tried & failed to replicate. A silly story line
