About this listen

The heart doesn’t forget….

The memory of that day still haunts Shylah Kemp. Eden had asked her to wait for him, to remain at the safe house while he went on a mission. But when she learned he was being setup, she didn’t have a choice. She had to do something.

It was a risk…and Shylah paid dearly.

Eden Cole is not the man he once was. Not since returning from his mission to find his whole world changed. Being betrayed by his own government would change any man. Betrayal by the woman he loved—that nearly broke him.

When his woman suddenly shows up in Marble Falls 14 months later, Eden is determined to learn why Shylah had disappeared without a trace…and put an end to the danger that’s followed in her wake.

a great follow on

I thought this book was going to be an information giver, and I wasn't wrong. shylas' story was full of secrets and sadness.
there was a bit more steam in this book and the romance droendedvon revealing all.
Eden is not my favourite alpha, and I struggled to connect with him. His ideals were a bit too mysoginistic for my liking, and I think Shyla needed to be a bit fiercer when it came to Eden's attitude tiesrd her. Nyssa did a great job of building Eden's character in book 1, which made him the perfect fit for this story.
I wanted to slap Shyla in a few places as the revelations were so obvious, well to me anyway.
The pace was medium, but the angst ramped up as the plot thickened. I kept thinking of ways for the evil plot to go differently.
I got a bit frustrated as the baddies kept getting away, but there's a few more men in the series and a lot more questions,
and I smiled at the little tidbit for book 3.
narrator's were great, both had good voices, and i enjoyed their creation of the characters.

Excellent storyline

So this is a bit of the misconception trope and while that’s not my favourite the author did it in a way that was relevant for the story! This was a great continuation from the first book Luca and I freaking loved Eden. The narration in the book was fantastic and it was casted really well.
