Publisher's Summary
The Great Bear will descend from the skies and with his paw lash at the ocean. He will devour all the works of Man. Then he will sleep for 10,000 years, and the breath of his sleep will be death.
The prophecy had come true. The world spun. Tidal waves lashed the planet, and a new ice age dawned. The few survivors of a once-great empire struggled to rebuild, to hold their ground against the rising barbarian tide. Then two moons appeared in the skies, unleashing a terrible evil that threatened not only the new empire but the survival of the world itself.

Gemmel as always at his finest
Gemmel never dissapoints.
voice acting was pleasant and well voiced. subtle character changes make it easy to tell one character from another when he voices them.
excellent experience all round.

Excellent as usual
One of my favourite David Gemmell books. The very best of heroic fantasy. I cried or joy and sadness. I can listen to his books again and again.

Voice actor needs more experience
The story is one of my favourite fantasy novels out. It is a short, but epic tale, however the voice actor leaves a lot to be desired. His accent skills are basic and, throughout, he makes a few mistakes that really suck the immersion out of the story.
I think Thomas Judd, the man who recited the Troy series, would have been an excellent choice instead.
