Publisher's Summary
In a world gone dark, she'll protect her daughter at any cost....
For Megan Wolford, life as she knew it came to an end after the world was decimated by an EMP. Now, she does her best to survive and protect her daughter, Caitlin. But when the young girl falls ill with a mysterious virus, Meghan must leave the safety of their home and embark on a dangerous journey to forage for medical supplies.
Meanwhile, former Navy SEAL Wyatt Morris struggles to hold his family together. When Megan crosses into their land, he's suspicious of her motives, despite feeling drawn to her. But he won't turn away a sick child, no matter how deadly the world has become.
Megan and Wyatt must work together to save Caitlin and forge a new life in a broken world. As they grow closer, they slowly discover other survivors they can trust. Strength in numbers could make the difference between life and death - but responsibility for others is a heavy burden.
And in a world driven to the brink, survival may require more sacrifice than they can possibly imagine....
This thrilling post-apocalyptic set contains EMP Lodge books 1-6, a complete series about surviving on the edge when all is lost.

unusual
I enjoyed the book series but found some of the writing to be a little off. I think the writer could have better developed some of the characters and based on their history or the experiences on their journey made questionable decisions. otherwise I did enjoy the books.

A little unbelievable
Sometimes you are left wondering how people can be so daft. Likable characters but honestly they don’t come across as deep characters and they aren’t the types that I’ll remember for long, the way you do when you get deeply invested. Still, I listened to all 6 books, so it was pretty good

Different.
Not sure if it’s more TV drama than apocalypse story or not.
A lot of “mansplaining” dialogue - and that’s coming from a man.
Wil continue with series.

More research by author required
The storyline is ok; however, the author’s knowledge of the military and weapons is not very good. For a former SEAL Wyatt is quite inept when it comes to weapons and tactics. Suggesting that an Army doctor is more adept at weapons than an ex SEAL is not believable. Army doctors are there for their medical knowledge and they are generally quite inept when it comes to anything military. Also the US Army does not use the AK47 yet when the crew arrived at the NRU the author stated the soldiers were carrying AK47s. It is a magazine not a clip. Rifles are not guns and military people would never refer to a rifle as a gun. A little more research would have resolved these issues to make the characters a little more credible.

From the first Chapter of Book. 1 in the series I was hooked.
I loved every minute of listening to this series. The storyline was so well written that I could really imagine the events taking place unlike other books in the genre. The story flowed effortlessly into each and out of each book and as someone who has never been in the US the descriptions of places etc allowed me to be able to picture that areas of the books. I look forward to checking out Grace’s other books. Andrew Tell’s narration also did the books justice. He had the ability of using his voice in different tones etc. to set up the paragraphs to allow the listener to feel the intensity of the stories twists and turns.

Thoroughly enjoyed!
An intriguing peek into “post-apocalyptic” life and the challenges we could possibly face should the ‘lights go out’ on a more permanent basis. Also makes one cherish and appreciate the luxuries we have. Great characters - couldn’t help to wipe away a tear or to now and then. Highly recommend.

Meh
Couldn't get more than an hour into it. Very underwhelming. It grates that I have to write this much about it.

Frustrating
Started okay and storyline was fine but the main female character Meaghan was frustrating and annoying. Her thought process had me laughing, it was so disjointed. I would have expected Wyatt, an ex Seal, to be a much a stronger character. By book 3 I was ready to give up but slogged it out. It seemed like it was written more as a " how to" guide in surviving when society falls apart. Disappointing but will give the author another go as other reviews mentioned her other books are better.
