About this listen

Lady Jessica, mother of Paul, and consort to Leto Atredies. The choices she made shaped an empire, but first, the Lady of Caladan must reckon with her own betrayal of the Bene Gesserit. She has already betrayed her ancient order, but now she must decide if her loyalty to the Sisterhood is more important than the love of her own family.

Meanwhile, events in the greater empire are accelerating beyond the control of even the Reverend Mother, and Lady Jessica's family is on a collision course with destiny.

The attention to Story Arcs within Srory Arcs....

I'm 12 books deep and I'm going to beyond the known universe. it's a marathon series but every individual moment in time is so detailed.

Captivating, thirsting tor more

A very intriguing book. An excellent primer for the Dune book itself. Subterfuge, fury, betrayal, loss and anguish.

Great story, great voice acting. Getting no re of the Dune universe is always welcome. 👍

Total waste of time

Brian Herbert is not even a pale shadow of his father when it comes to writing. He ought not to have been let anywhere near the beloved Dune series. Lady of Caladan is a misleading title for starters. This lengthy rambling nonsensical potboiler has very little to do with the fair lady and much to do with lengthy pointless discourse about patriarchal society structure and political machinations and intrigue of a complex and utterly pointless and boring nature. This lengthy tome goes nowhere and ends nowhere forcing one to wonder "what the hell did I just read/listen to?" It does not seem to fit anywhere pertinent in the Dune chronology and (we are given no warning of this in the blurb.) Scott Brick is an awful narrator. His overblown characterisations and frequent mispronunciations really grate on the nerves very quickly. Do yourself a favour and find something better to spend your money on.
