About this listen
New York Times best-seller. Wall Street Journal best-seller. USA Today best-seller.
Hunches, horse races, and heartbreak!
Ten years after Simone Payton broke his heart, all Roscoe Winston wants is a doughnut. He'd also like to forget her entirely, but that's never going to happen. Roscoe Winston remembers everything - every look, every word, every single unrequited second - and the last thing he needs is another memory of Simone.
Unfortunately, after one chance encounter, Simone keeps popping up everywhere he happens to be....
Ten years after Roscoe Winston dropped out of her life, all Simone Payton wants is to exploit him. She'd also like some answers from her former best friend about why he ghosted her, but if she never gets those answers, that's a-okay. Simone let go of the past a long time ago. Seriously, she has. She totally, totally has. She is definitely not still thinking about Roscoe. Nope. She's more than happy to forget he exists.
But first, she needs just one teeny-tiny favor....
Dr. Strange Beard is a full-length romantic comedy novel, can be listened to as a stand-alone, and is the fifth audiobook in the USA Today best-selling Winston Brothers series.

amazing audiobook series
Well, I've finished my Winston Brothers series reread in preparation for Beard With Me, I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to all of the audiobooks in the series. (I wonder how long until the Beard With Me audiobook releases?.........in the meantime, my pre-order of the Beard With Me ebook downloads tomorrow, *happy dance*)

I love it!
This is a beautiful story of two people who are not quite what you expect. The narrators were excellent. Clutching my heart there at times!

Good
I loved the characters and plot in this story, though I found it difficult to discern where Roscoe's memories and the present intercepted. With the male narration it jumped around a bit and got a tad confusing; what is thought, memory, or spoken aloud?
I recommend reading the spin-off series of Jen and Cletus before reading this as it follows the previous book and there's a spoiler in this one.
Overall a very good book.

Arghhhh that voice
Great story and Roscoe book and Roscoe voice went hand in hand. Both January LaVoy as Simone and Chris Brinkley as Roscoe kept me so engaged that I couldn't sleep. Even when I stopped the audible and read the book I can hear their distinct voices in my head. The story was amazing and one I had accidentally stumbled across, but the audible book just made it even better. Recommend this friends to lovers romance novel. Great characters and although this can be read alone, you'll want to read/listen to the other parts of the series.

Love Penny Reid
I like this story, but could the author please find some other adjectives besides 'essential' ...it's obviously her new pet word...otherwise I like how she tackles various disorders

Just didn’t enjoy this one as much!
I usually enjoy the Winston brothers but this story was just SO boring!!! I found that Simone and Roscoe’s romance was just meh! For me, there were just zero sparks between them. Also, Simone was annoying with her “I can’t love you like that” excuses, and then doing a complete 180 about her feelings for Roscoe. The only thing I enjoyed about this book was the banter between the Winston brothers. Looking forward to Billy’s book though!

didn't work for me
I haven't read/heard just 2 in this series - this was 3rd last in my wish list, and I am wondering if it was worth my time/cost. I found a lot of it boring - unnecessary details and plotlines - and just didn't emotionally engage with leads. felt like the youngest Winston wasn't as well fleshed out as brothers and Simone wasn't that interesting or quirky to me, so wasn't invested in them or relationship. took the series as a whole down a star for me, and thinking to delay reading other 2 left. Chris is a fantastic narrator, and the female narrator was pretty good ( though would expect more southern accent, even if Simone tried to tone it down). I guess it was interesting how she brought the pressures and limitations of being black unto story, especially now.
