About this listen

My name is Rex. I am a good dog....

Rex is also seven feet tall at the shoulder, bulletproof, bristling with heavy-calibre weaponry, and a deadly weapon in a dirty war. He's part of a Multiform Assault Pack operating in the lawless anarchy of Campeche, southeastern Mexico. He has the intelligence to carry out his orders and feedback implants to reward him when he does. All he wants to be is a Good Dog, and to do that he must do exactly what Master says.

What happens when Master is tried as a war criminal? What rights does the Geneva Convention grant weapons? And what happens when Rex slips his leash?

Heartbreakingly captures what humans are capable of

I listened to “Bear 🐻 Head” first and then learned it was the second book in a series.

Dogs of War made sense of some of the concepts and broke my heart almost every time I listened to it.

Great ideas fleshed

Loved the ideas and the mix of viewpoints, complex but easily accessible and written. Recommend to almost anyone even those whom don’t usually consume sci-Fi ….. 5&1/2* ha

Intelligent, plausibly speculative hard sf

A plausible speculation of how the next stage of sentient life might occur, raising interesting moral questions and set amongst likely human fallibility. That and good plot and action to boot.

Engaging and Original

Listened to this on a whim and really enjoyed the author's creativity and compelling narrative. Intertwining character arcs were thoroughly engaging, and didn't distract or grate on the listeners mind as they so often do when forced or are inappropriately timed. The vocal production was fantastic as well.
Good dog Rex, see you soon Honey, thankyou Bees... vale Dragon.
