Beautiful portrait of a long term marriage and enduring love

I thoroughly enjoyed this beautifully written realistic portrayal of a couple who are at a crossroad in life when they become empty nesters. As happens in real life, life’s challenges all seem to come at once. While rising to meet these challenges head on as individuals who have lost their connection with each other, each realises what is ultimately most important and fundamental to their future happiness. The characters are beautifully drawn, complex, flawed and real. Wonderful performance by the reader as well. Highly recommend.

Disappointing, lacked engaging storytelling.

Very light story line, naively told. A soppy love story. It was also read in an irritating ‘tough guy’ style manner. I love the author and had expected much more.
