Publisher's Summary

I'm a country boy, born and raised. He's new in town and all city.

Bronc riding has always been my main focus. The plan was simple: work hard, go pro, and show the world what I was made of. It hasn't been easy, but I did it through dedication and a whole lot of determination.

My dreams came true, my life more than fulfilled… Or so I thought. I never knew how much I ached for more until I stopped to help a stranger on the side of a one-lane road one chilly fall afternoon.

He couldn't be more different than me, with his messy curls and the chipped black polish. But from the moment he fumbled over his words, flustered and tense, sitting in the driver's seat of his broken-down ride, I knew I wanted to know more. Know everything. This all-consuming need to get to know him, to get close to him, is new.

He's only in town for a short while, Copper Lake merely a temporary stop. Getting close to him is foolish… But there's no way I can stop it. Not when he makes me feel things I've never felt before.

What happens when he goes back to the city, and I'm left in the dust, watching his tail lights disappear down the dirt road?

Story of Xander and Cope

This is the second book in this series and is an opposites attract/small town romance, featuring Cope, a cowboy from Copper Lake who is a professional Rodeo star, and Xander, a city guy from Washington in town to help his aunty on her farm after her operation.

Cope and Xander meet on the narrow dirt road that heads towards Cope’s house. Xander was driving to his Aunty’s place (Cope’s neighbour) but his car broke down. Cope stops to offer him a lift.

The longer Xander is in town, the more time Cope and Xander spend together and they quickly become friends. Both are attracted to each other but Xander has a boyfriend. Don’t worry, there is no cheating.

Xander has been having trouble with his boyfriend and the distance is not helping things. Henry, the boyfriend, eventually comes to visit Xander for this birthday but it doesn’t take long for things to come to a head and forces them to have a very difficult conversation and end their relationship.

I won’t spoil anymore of this book but I will say this is a standalone and a guaranteed HEA. I would recommend that you read Eight Seconds to Ride before this book though as they are interconnected. Xander is also Travis’s BFF from Say My Name (also an amazing book), and there is a couple appearances of Travis and Mateo.

One of my fav quotes:
“I’ll be respectful of your relationship ending for now, but I need you to know that I plan to make you mine in due time, city boy.”
