About this listen
Bo Blackman is a rookie private investigator working for the London based firm of Dire Straits. She doesn't often get triber-based assignments, which is just as well. Vampires and daemons don't interest her as much as humans do. However, when she has to serve a summons on a dodgy daemon called Devlin O'Shea and she ends up saving his life instead of being framed for his murder, her life takes a shocking turn for the worse. And when the vampire Families start involving themselves too, Bo no longer knows where to turn.

Exciting start for a new series
Dire straits is an exciting and the heroine/private detective is lovable but clueless, her heartis in the right place but she seemed to have all the bad luck in the world. Anyway its a great first book of this serial and i want to know what happens next to Bo and Michael? Whill they finally kiss? They do have a chemistry so please don't let us wait forever. Saskia as always is excellent in her narrative xx

Narration is excellent
I have been loving Helen Harper’s series on audible, and particularly the ones narrated by Saskia Maarleveld but have found this one less enjoyable. Personal preference, but the story being written in present tense can feel stagnant.
If this style doesnt bother you so much, it will be enjoyable. Otherwise highly recommend Harper’s other series narrated by Maarleveld!

My first fiction book in quite a while. it was a nice diversion for me. I enjoyed the narration performance and the story.

An alright story
Great narration. Story was a bit slow. Main character was not very smart. Other characters were good. The characters reminded me a bit of a Miss Marple story.

Good mistery
I liked the mystery part of the story. I didn't particularly like Michael the family head/potential love interest. Also, family structure was super vague and the world building could use some work.
I was also pretty depressed by the semi-cliffhanger ending rather than curious about what happens next.
Not sure if I will continue the series.
