About this listen
Bent Jørgensen, født 1933, dansk zoolog. Allerede som 17-årig udviste han interesse for zoologiske haver og stod egenhændigt bag udgivelsen af bladet "International Zoo News", der nu udgives i England. I 1965 blev han cand.mag. i zoologi og fik samme år ansættelse ved Zoologisk Museum. Her ledede han opbygningen af udstillingerne - efter økologiske principper og med moderne teknik. Senere blev han direktør for Zoologisk Have, og også her forestod han med stor kompetence og opfindsomhed en gennemgribende fornyelse af bl.a. børnezoo, abejungle og tropehus samt en præsentation af dyrene i henhold til geografisk forekomst.
Bent Jørgensen har udgivet talrige artikler og en række bøger for både børn og voksne med dyre- og zooformidling på højt niveau. Særligt kan fremhæves "Opfindsomhed i dyreverdenen", "Efterskrift på væggen" og "Dyret i dit spejl".©2017 Lindhardt og Ringhof (P)2017 Lindhardt og Ringhof
