About this listen

From visionary Silicon Valley entrepreneur Tom Siebel comes a penetrating examination of the new technologies that are disrupting business and government - and how organizations can harness them to transform into digital enterprises.

The confluence of four technologies - elastic cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and the internet of things - writes Siebel, is fundamentally changing how business and government will operate in the 21st century.

Siebel masterfully guides listeners through a fascinating discussion of the game-changing technologies driving digital transformation and provides a roadmap to seize them as a strategic opportunity. He shows how leading enterprises such as Enel, 3M, Royal Dutch Shell, the US Department of Defense, and others are applying AI and IoT with stunning results.

Digital Transformation is the guidebook every business and government leader needs to survive and thrive in the new digital age.

Great book spoiled a little by competitive bias

I want to say upfront that Thomas Siebel obviously has major biases towards anything that he's ever worked on and seems to deliberately ignore certain vendors (in competition with his) that are and have been key to driving Digital Transformation.

Accept the above bias (most probably won't even notice) and you'll be rewarded with a very informative book about the key pillars of the 4th industrial revolution. The middle four chapters that go in to detail on each pillar don't really provide anything that you don't get from elsewhere in the book so I would suggest skipping them.

I would definitely recommend that people read this if they want to know more about Digital Transformation.

Soporific, dull and mostly useless

I had such high hopes I’d learn something that wasn’t freely available on the internet. A revelation or framework, an approach or deeper understanding. The narrator sounds bored with himself. If there are gems here, they’re buried beneath the dull delivery.
