About this listen
Women shaped the men who changed the world.
History tells of women whose love for the Bible shaped its earliest and most prominent teachers. It tells of women who were great theologians in their own right, yet whose only students were their own children. It tells, time and time again, of Christian men who owe so much to their godly mothers. Raising children to honor and glorify the Lord is the goal of every Christian mother, but how can you do that? Who can teach you?
One of the best ways to learn is to read or listen to examples of women who have succeeded at the very task you are attempting. Come and listen to some of them. We will hear the church’s earliest days to find a man who owed his salvation to the careful biblical instruction he received on the lap of his mother. We will zoom forward a few centuries to a woman whose constant prayers were at last rewarded when her son came to faith and went on to become one of history’s most influential theologians. We will advance to recent centuries to see how the prayers, teaching, and examples of godly mothers have shaped evangelists, preachers, and stalwart defenders of the faith. We will learn together of Christian men and their godly moms, mothers who were used to shape the men who changed the world.

What an encouraging must-read for all Christian mothers
This reads very well as an audio book and one you could listen to more than once.
This book has something for every kind of mother as the family stories are very diverse. From mothers who died when their children were young to mothers who became Christians when their children were adults.
God used really ordinary women of all personality types, backgrounds and circumstances to further his kingdom in extraordinary ways. Left me encouraged that I don’t have to do be any other type of mother than what Jesus has called me to be and also definitely an encouragement to know that some of the great Christian men in history were extremely challenging children for their parents! There is hope for all of us!
If you want to get an idea of what’s in the book, the biographies were originally part of a blog series on Tim’s website so you can Google his name and the name of one of the men in his book and it should come up. The blogs are identical to the chapters but they don’t have the reflection questions and ‘a mother’s reflection’ at the end of each chapter like the book does - which I always found very insightful and wise. But it does mean if there is a particular biography you want to share with a friend, you can send them the blog version.
My only reason for saying maybe don’t get it on Audible is it’s totally a book you will want to share with other mums and you won’t be able to do that! But if it’s going to be the only way you read it then definitely do.

An encouragement for all mothers.
It's a great read - short, compelling chapters that really encouraged me as a mum of young daughters.

Good book
my favourite was right at the end. Timothy ! I was also encouraged that all I need to do is share God by using the bible. Have a visible passion for God's word.
