About this listen
The killer is, in fact, Thobela Mpayipheli, a former freedom fighter robbed of everything by the murder of his son. And when Griessel's daughter is kidnapped, his world and Thobela's converge towards a devastating climax.

Disappointing
I was disappointed and disturbed by the frequent use of the word Jesus. The story would have been just as good without it. It is insensitive towards Christian readers, and I personally will not read sny more books of Deon.

Story set in picturesque Cape Town
The story is set in Cape Town - a beautiful city in my country of South Africa. A beautiful; engaging story with many interesting themes. The narrater’s accents so realistic!

Excellent narration! Great story!
All the elements of great crime/detective fiction show up in this brilliantly narrated story. Characters are three dimensional and believable even though they are archetypal and typical of classic crime fiction. The threads of the narrative are diverse enough to keep the listener interested and expertly woven together with a few surprises that do not ever feel contrived. Highly recommend this. The narrator nailed the accents, the voices, the pace and the emphasis. Almost like listening to a play he is so good. Loved the detail and descriptions of place and past. So evocative and true to South Africa. Can't wait to hear the next one!!!
