About this listen
This audio will help families, teachers, principals, social workers, 12 step sponsors, pastors, and religious deal with conflict, overcome self-deception and promote honesty, integrity, and interdependence. The art of leadership is brought into focus and the capacity of all to share in the power to make things better. A sense of powerlessness, blame, suspicion and backward looking attitudes drains individuals and groups of their capacity to grow.
Sr. Riley challenges the listener to a profound self-examination that will aid the individual in learning how to listen to others, be humble truthful, inclusive and forgiving.
She stresses the need for mentors in leadership and spiritual guides to build healthy friendships, to be hopeful and a person of vision. With humor, practical suggestions and a great deal of experience she demonstrates healthy ways of leading others and being led. She stresses the need for delegating power and then supporting the one who has received the power to carry out in his or her own unique way any given project. At the same time, she shows the need to be supportive towards those in authority so that they will not become isolated and lose touch with what is going on in the family or organization.
Ultimately, a good leader learns how to gather information, administer an organization well and recognize the sacred in the world and the people who are working together for a common goal. This is a powerful and practical program that will be listened to again and again. It is an excellent discussion starter for any family or group that feels fragmented and stuck in unhealthy, debilitating ways of behaving.
