Dr. Holmes und Mr. Mudgett
Henry Howard Holmes wurde der Titel "Allererster Serienmörder in den USA" zuerkannt. Der Arzt und Apotheker, der sich später Herman Webster Mudgett nannte, errichtete 1890 pünktlich zur Weltausstellung in Chicago ein Hotel, das als das "Horrorhaus" in die Kriminalgeschichte eingehen sollte. Hier tötete und quälte Holmes schätzungsweise 200 Menschen aus Habgier und Mordlust. Wolfgang Holbein hat sich an den gruseligen Stoff gewagt und einen historischen Psychothriller geschrieben, der es in sich hat.
