Der alte König saß auf seinem Thron und regierte. Er hatte eine Krone auf dem Kopf mit einer warmen Unterlage, und an den Füssen trug er Filzpantoffeln. Es war eben schon ein alter König, der sich ein bisschen schonen musste beim Regieren, während sich die Könige ja sonst immer dabei überanstrengen. Außerdem sahen die Filzpantoffeln wirklich sehr hübsch aus, es waren alle sieben Farben daraufgestickt, denn das Land, das der alte König regierte, lag ganz weit von hier irgendwo hinter dem Regenbogen.
