Die Germanen werden von zwei Seiten bedroht: Nicht nur die Römer lauern auf sie, sondern auch die übermächtigen Truppen des Markomannenkönigs Marbod. Außerdem stehen nicht mehr alle Cherusker den Germanen Arminius und Thorag im Kampf bei und ihre einstige Einheit ist zerschlagen.
Doch eine weitere Bedrohung bahnt sich an: Die mysteriöse Jägerin Canis ist mit in das Gefecht gezogen, um Rache zu üben. Thorag ist wie gefesselt von der ebenso schönen wie exotischen Amazone. Er weiß aber auch, warum man sich im Kampf besser nicht von einer Frau ablenken lassen sollte.
