About this listen

Trust doesn’t come easily when you’ve been running for as long as I have, which is why moving in with a man I barely know is such a bad idea. Shepard Colson is all golden-boy charm and devastating good looks. But I know what it’s like to be taken in by easy smiles and the promise of forever—I have the scars to prove it.

Only the handsome contractor won’t stop coming by the bakery and prying little truths from my lips—those amber eyes of his seeing far too much. And when all the secrets come crashing down, he’s determined to keep me safe, even if it means moving into my rundown cabin to do it.

Now, Shep isn’t just rebuilding the walls of my home; he’s working his way into my heart. Suddenly, he’s everywhere: shirtless in my garden or in a towel coming out of my bathroom. And my resolve is no match.

Only it’s more than his golden looks. It’s him. The way he watches for my wounds but tells me I’m stronger than anyone he’s ever known. And I can’t help but fall.

But I should’ve known better than to think I could be happy—not when a ghost from my past still has me in his sights. And when he finds me, he’ll do anything to tear my life apart, even if it means ending it for good…

Beautiful performance as always

I love Catherine’s stories, though sometimes a bit predictable, I enjoy the roller coaster ride they take me on. The performance was amazing as always.

Great second book in the series

I really enjoyed Delicate Escape. This is book 2 in the Sparrow Falls series. It follows Thea and Shep. We meet them both in book 1. I liked this book way more than book 1. This was fast paced and lots going on but in a good way. There's a few plot twists and what the?! moments. Shep and Thea are a beautiful couple and they deserve their happy ending. This was great on audio and the narrators do a brilliant job at bringing the story to life. This is a great story if you like he falls first, mystery, found family.

Heart Warming Story

You can't go wrong with Small Town and Romantic Suspense.
.
In the second book, we follow Shepard, who we were introduced to in book one. He is the kind of man that we all wish we could find. He is determined to be the man for Thea, a woman who keeps to herself and is clearly hiding from something or someone.
.
We get to learn Thea's heartbreaking story, showing that abuse can be more than just physical and that it can leave the same amount of damage under the surface.
.
This was a difficult story for me to read, but also a powerful one. Catherine is out done herself with her characters and the emotional attachment that we end up feeling for them. The sense of found family is heartwarming.

Great story

Great story, as with all Teddy read books, the narration was excellent. Would’ve been better as a duet but loved it nonetheless

Suspenseful love story

Kept my interest the whole story, no time for lulls. Shep is a great character, Teddy Hamilton was good as always. The female narrator was not quite right, her inflections needing work. All the side characters will make for interesting stories in the future book.
