great character development
I always love dragon tales. this one is well built and the bonds between dragon and rider well developed and explained.
excellent series, 5 stars for everything, definitely will be looking out for books 4 and 5 in the coming years.

Superb fantasy book
My favourite aspect of this series is how not everything goes right every time. Sometime sis does, sometimes it doesn’t, just like in real life. It makes the story hard to predict and thoroughly entertaining!

Another great book can not wait for the next, as the character list grows and declines it is a little hard to keep track but you always pick up more reading/listening more than once (this collection is worth reading again)

Obsessed
Things are looking grim. The threat of Thrall and how much worse he can get... His new drakes and their powers... The loss of some characters... Things are grim indeed. In love with Ozrik and Soot. Give me more!
I was so sad to finish it knowing there would be some wait for the next in the series. Time to start again!
If you are a fan of dragons, fantasy, heroes, politics, magic... This is for you. It's not as serious as dragon blade trilogy, another great series but I personally prefer this one.
Peter Kenny is an amazing narrator for this series. So many accents to do and he nailed them all.

Fantastic expansion of a beautiful world
Defiant is a brilliant expansion of the world we have been experiencing through the first 2 books. It opens up the series to new magic's and expands the audiences understanding of bonds, dragons, Elders, and Paragons.
Holt and Ash's story progresses fantastically as they gain greater insight into what he will need to advance towards Lord. As he tries to complete his mission for the Life Elder and support his friends, Holt starts to try and look inward to follow Rake's advice to expand his soul.
Talia's story is a measure of character under pressure. Talia tries to hold her kingdom together while finding ways to strike at the scurge. Surrounded by enemies and allies unable to help, Talia must find a way to hold everything together.
Osric's story is an exploration of his character and how people's trauma can lead them down dark paths and how to try and redeem themselves from it. Osric needs to protect his new dragon by getting stronger, but first, they have to find a way to heal Osric's soul so that Osric and his dragon can build their bond.
Adaska appears as a new character, giving new insight into the relationships between the Paragons, the order, the wild flights, and the wider politics of the world. It is a brilliant and necessary insight into the centre of the order of dragon riders.
With Defiant's expansion of the lore, learning more about the Paragons, Elders, magic, bonds, and rich characters. It is a book that had me struggling to put it down from the start to the brilliant finish.
