The whole planet was introduced to the multiverse by an unfeeling System... or God. A universe where an endless number of races and civilizations fought for power and dominion.

Zac finds himself stuck in the wilderness surrounded by deadly beasts, demons, and worse. Alone, lost and without answers, he must find the means to survive and get stronger in this new cut-throat reality.

With only a hatchet for his weapon, he'll have to seek out his family before the world collapses... or die trying.

Good story

Overall the story is good, but the writing can be very annoying (you’ll see what I mean). I stuck through it to see what would happen next. Performance was great.

really good story and good narration

literally as the title says, only complaint was I found it hard to focus on the narrations at times

otherwise its a cultivation litrpg story that thankfully doesn't spend 2 hours going over the characters stat's... yet

a fun take on integration fantasy with actual lore to back it up

I think that stat page will get longer later on

Easy to listen and entertaining book.

If you’re after a book, that’s easy to listen to and entertaining this is so. Don’t expect a major plot, twister

I've read upto book 13 so far

Amazing. overall a really great storyline and progression through the entire series. I found the writing style a little annoying in the first few books with certain phrases being overused ( Zac growled) (however) but the author has improved greatly and ontop of that the storyline and world and universe building has been incredible and I'm very grateful for the speed at which books are released.

A good story hampered by basic writing

This story is fine if you don't expect too much. I enjoyed the situation the character found himself in - your basic 'the earth has been taken over by aliens and now you've got to survive' setting - but there's no... finesse to the writing.

For example, the similes are basic and repeated often - 'flattened like a pancake,' 'green with envy,' 'bit the bullet' and 'steely eyes with a steely glint' spatter the text with little effort at originality. And words are often repeated two or three times in the same sentence / paragraph, especially in action scenes - almost like the author was so invested in writing everything in his/her head down that they forgot to go back and edit. 'He heard rustling in the bushes ahead. He crouched down and looked in the bushes ahead' or 'finally the last remnants of the wolf pack fell finally asleep.' That sort of thing.

The MC is OP as heck, so the story isn't really about him surviving. In fact, the fight scenes are kinda boring. There's a lot of them, but they're all lackluster events that are pretty much forgettable. There was no emotion and no tension, and never any doubt the MC would survive. Think 'historical records of a battle' and you'll have a pretty good idea of what to expect.

So, the writing is a little amateur. And I almost put the book down several times because of this. But something kept me listening... the storyline, I think. It's more about 'what's he going to do next, and what would I do in the same situation.'

I did enjoy the litrpg elements, and there was some town building toward the end as well. If you've got nothing else to listen to, give this a go. But it's not a series I'm going to continue.

4 out of 5 stars by litrpg standards
3 out of 5 stars if comparing to the best of wider fiction

Enthralling Story however extremely slow start

I Found this to be one of the better LitRPG I have listened too and I've listened to alot! however it takes a long time to build up, as the first 5 to 6 hours of the book I felt like turning it off and cutting my losses. however did it ever BUILD up I absolutely loved every minute of it after the first slow hours. cannot wait for the next one to release.
I could not put it down after it became interesting.
