About this listen
Fight for your death.
When regular high schooler Grady Hake is mistakenly taken by the Angel of Death, he thinks his life is over. Then, he wakes up on a prison shuttle bound for Van Diemann’s Planet, a penal colony run by brutal gangs of criminal cultivators.
This is his life now, and if he wants to survive it, he’ll have to learn to harness his unique death spirit, make friends with alien outcasts, appease a band of hungry ghosts, and fight his way into one of the strongest gangs on the planet.
From Eden Hudson, best-selling author of Rogue Dungeon and Path of the Thunderbird, comes a brand-new series you won't want to stop listening to. Death Cultivator is a sci-fi wuxia for fans of Shonen manga and anime such as Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, and Deadman Wonderland.

Great book, highly recommend to anyone that's a fan of Travis baldree voice acting. Very different take on the genre which was refreshing. Author jammed a bunch of unmemorable Japanese words into a western cyber setting which was uncomfortable and forced to me. But I still enjoyed the story and look forward to the next.

I just can't, the MC is just to self destructive
protagonist as a massive chip on their shoulder won't take a hand out from anyone won't take an insult from anyone and generally makes bad life choices constantly. I get that it's a plot device, but it just feels incredibly forced to push the story in a very unnatural way that is frustrating to listen to.
only got 2H 34M in before I had to stop.
voice acting is good and story has an interesting premise, side characters seem interesting. I just can't suspend my disbelief that someone is really that stupid, the some one being MC.
