Publisher's Summary
Everybody hates necromancers.
Death magic? It’s disgusting.
And dangerous.
For Conor, it’s also the skill that pays the bills. The medication that keeps him cancer free is expensive, and he’s terrified to die.
He should be. Death doesn’t like being played.
When the promise of a big payout for a small bit of thievery presents itself, Conor is all in. But nothing comes easy when magic is involved, and it isn’t long before he’s caught up in the machinations of the most powerful wizards on Earth and left with only two ways out:
Will he cheat Death?
Or meet him?
If you like Dresden, Temple, or the Iron Druid, you’ll want to meet Conor Night.

Something dry but different
Honestly it's not a bad read but the protagonist is a average guy who makes a lot of bad choices don't expect overpowered super hero he constantly escapes death by talking his way out of it or his enemies talking themselves to death it is a story trying to lead him on a major journey of growth but just mostly him on the verge of death escaping by the skin of his teeth For a pity party later

very enjoyable first listen. highly entertaining
a very easy to listen to story which just builds as it goes and you find yourself strangely drawn to the seemingly unlikable protagonist, Conor Night. The tale gives glimpses of a fascinating alternate reality and you find yourself completely biuyng into its gritty feel and nearness to our own. am hooked and just bought and about to start book 2 iin the series. highly recommended - don't get me wrong it's no Lord of the Rings, it's no Dune, or GoT. but the author didn't pretend to be. He aims for entertaining romp, and delivers on that in spades.
