Exiled Ultramarines Uriel Ventris and Pasanius venture into the heart of the Iron Warriors’ fortress-world in search of atonement – but will they find anything but horror and death?

Listen to It Because

Explore the Iron Warriors' fortress world in the Eye of Terror through the eyes of exiled Ultramarines Uriel Ventris and Pasanius. Dark technology and even darker magic combine, and Ventris meets an enemy who'll haunt him for a long time to come.

The Story

Exiled from the Ultramarines Chapter by Marneus Calgar, Captain Uriel Ventris ventures deep into the dreaded Eye of Terror to atone for his disgrace. There, Uriel must unleash the Emperor's vengeance upon the followers of the Dark Gods and bring His divine light to this area of darkness. But a far more terrible foe dwells within these worlds of insanity: the ancient Chaos Space Marine Legions. With dishonour behind him and certain death ahead, Uriel must gather every ounce of courage if he is to survive and regain his honour!

Bloody hell

Bloody disturbing but well written. Loved that the whole thing takes place during a massive siege

Herersy Overload

First audio book from the black library. Have been wanting to read this book for quite sometime and it did not disappoint. The thrill of visceral brutality expected from a traitor legion and the pure ecstacy of Ultramarine devotion all in one go. Highly recommended to those who are fans of the grotesque grim dark universe that is 40k. Easy to digest even as newcomer but not for the faint of heart.

Chaos fight chaos was interesting

chaos magic and demons are too much. It's like plot armor but plot armor makes sense to keep the story going.

One of the Space Marine books of all time

When people complain about space marines being characterless, I imagine they read this book.

Graham McNeil is super hit or miss, some great books like the Forge of Mars series and Storm of Iron. First GW book I stopped because I got bored part way through.

Character of Honsou is an actual idiot, even though he's supposed to be a centuries old master of strategy.

VA isn't bad and I love their voice for Honsou, but their voice for some Space Marine characters is so high, it makes the characters sound like 16 year olds

unnecessary and contrived, adds little

absurdly unnecessary levels of gore and torture; the conflicts are meaningless and predictable. wouldn't recommend
