About this listen

Audible number-one best seller Peter Clines returns with a thrilling tale of the creature above - and the deadly threat below.

In the year 2243, the Moon belongs to the dead.

The largest graveyard in the solar system, it was the perfect solution to the overcrowding and environmental problems that had plagued mankind for centuries. And the perfect place for Cali Washington to run away from her past.

But when a mysterious meteor crashes into one of the Moon’s cemeteries, Cali and her fellow Caretakers find themselves surrounded by a terrifying enemy force that outnumbers them more than a thousand to one. An enemy not hindered by the lack of air or warmth or sustenance.

An enemy that is already dead.

Now Cali and her compatriots must fight to survive. Because if they don’t, everyone on the Moon may be joining the dead.

And maybe everyone on Earth, too....

Critic Reviews

"Narrator Ray Porter actually catches a break with this gruesome science-fiction audiobook. Much of this thriller's cast is composed of thousands of silent zombies, so Porter doesn't have to differentiate much among them.... But he still shines while bringing to life multinational characters, ably employing distinctive accents and timbres. He really ramps up the tension as a dwindling handful of survivors struggles to save humankind from a chilling threat." (AudioFile Magazine)

Such a great story

This audiobook was terrible for my sleep patterns as I couldn’t stop listening! It meshes in nicely with the other books in the shared universe but is set in the future. Amazing book and amazing narration, Get this book!

The other two were so good. 😔

This story was very predictable beyond the initial surprise. So l disappointing considering how great the other two books are.

Terrible

Struggled until the end. Like seriously struggled. Even Ray Porter phoned it in on this one.

Interesting Scenario

I very nearly didn't buy this book, but was very glad I did, I love Peter Clines, but the plot, basically "Zombies in space" looked a bit cheesy. However, this well written and far from the usual walking dead shockers. Interesting plot, good characters and a good performance from the narrator. Well worth a listen

Okay-ish

Yeah so got into the first two books in this series then got to this book and was well confused. little to nothing to do with the first two books, it's alright for a stand alone story.

zombies..

Personally I'm not a fan of zombies. I struggled to finish it, the only reason I did was because it's book three in the series.
Not one I'll revisit.

I really enjoyed this book!

My new favourite in the sci-fi/horror/romance sub-sub genre! A slow start but quickly ramps up to max intensity. Ray Porter great as always.

Good and original story

I like the story development and characters, which altogether nicely complement and enhance a premise (planet cemetery) difficult to justify under normal economic conditions

Not as bad as others have reviewed it.

I LOVED 14 and I loved The Fold almost as much and, like many reviews have said, this book doesn't connect with those two as much as they connect with each other. However, there IS a solid connection. I think those reviewers were more disappointed the original cast members didn't make an appearance, as was I. However, putting all that disappointment aside, this was still a sold book on its own.

I'll admit, it started a bit slowly for my liking and I found most of the characters a bit hard to connect with, the nain character included. In fact, I never particularly liked the main character much, not like the main characters in Cline's previous books. But some if the supporting characters did come good and once you're a good four hours into the story, you're hooked. Thankfully, the action starts even earlier than that!

In short, give it a go if you like Cline's other stories or just want a zombie style novel!
