About this listen
Some secrets are worth killing for.
When DCI Duncan Bone is contacted by a terminally ill psychiatric patient and given clues linking a 40-year-old unsolved murder to high-profile public figures, he finds himself locked into a conspiracy at the very heart of the Scottish criminal and political establishment.
With his bosses stonewalling the investigation, lives under threat, and his career on the line, Bone faces a race against time to hunt down a group of men who will stop at nothing to cover their murderous crime.
Can DCI Bone catch the killer before the killing starts again?
Set among the dramatic hills and glens of Scotland's Campsie Fells, Dead Man's Stone is the third in a series of edge-of-your-seat crime thrillers that will keep you guessing right up to the nail-biting, heart-stopping climax. Perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, J. D. Kirk, Val McDermid, and Stuart MacBride.

An improvement on Book 2
I almost gave up on this series after Book 2, but this book is an improvement on its predecessor. The main character is more likeable in this book and not as apparently stupid as in Book 2. His ex-wife seems to have a new and improved personality too so that aspect of the overall plot line is less hard to bear. The crimes are more believable, and Steve Worsley gives his usual sterling performance. I’ll probably go on to Book 4.

A good story line
While I thought there was far to much incidental banter and padding, it was otherwise an enjoyable audiobook

Now a pleasant addiction…
Just finished this third book in the fabulous DCI Bone series written by the marvellous writer MrT.G.Reid, Esquire. Now l am addicted, as l knew after reading the first book in this series that l would be.
The storyline was centred around youth who clearly were needing guidance. The wilderness programmes that are today, still a lifeline for wayward youth to find their way into a better lifestyle as they grow older. The times however, were different back then around the sixties and seventies and theories of aiding such troubled youths has now changed, for the better .
DCI Bone has now given up his diet and as such is a much happier soul , though still batting with PTSD demons continuing to pop up at unexpected times. The exasperation of his superiors still at odds with the way he works is still clear although they are aware of the good results he constantly achieves.
I was so pleased that there has been a change in the relationship between DCI Bone and his estranged wife and that she is realising what a good husband she has and the awful way she has been treating him. I really look forward to the day they hopefully will reunite…
It was also lovely to have welcomed a new baby with two lovely mothers in the team and the get together at the end was a very nice ending to the storyline.
So…now here l am waiting to start my fourth book in this wonderful series…looking forward to another period of pure enjoyment and escapism…
Thank you again MrTG Reid, Esquire for providing us with another journey of crime fighting with the great DCI Bone.

Another great book in the series
I only discovered TG Reid a couple of weeks ago and really got into the series right away.
I have quite a few Scottish based books in my library and Steve Worsley never disappoints by bringing the story to life with his brilliant narration.
The first 3 books of this series were great storylines and the characters really likeable.
Looking forward to getting to know DCI Bone a lot more & hoping it won't be too long before the next case.
Thanks TG Reid 😃

Disappointed in this one
The narration was really annoying because of the constant ‘he said she said he said’ was constant, excessive and unnecessary

Another good listen.
I’m liking the main characters growth as a human being. I hope this continues in the next book too.
Thanks.
