About this listen
The discovery of a woman's body and a link to the events of 9/11 takes Detective Superintendent Roy Grace around the world in Dead Man's Footsteps, by award winning crime author Peter James.
Amid the tragic mayhem of the morning of 9/11, failed Brighton businessman and ne'er-do-well Ronnie Wilson sees the chance of a lifeline: to shed his debts, disappear and reinvent himself in another country.
Six years later the discovery of the skeletal remains of a woman's body in a storm drain in Brighton leads Roy Grace on an enquiry spanning the globe, and into a desperate race against time to save the life of a woman being hunted down like an animal in the streets and alleys of Brighton.
Although the Roy Grace novels can be listened to in any order, Dead Man's Footsteps is the fourth gripping title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with Dead Tomorrow and Dead Like You.
Now a major ITV series, Grace, starring John Simm.

Another great book
Great story, nice listening to it after reading the book when it first came out. Only annoying thing is how the narrator was pronouncing Melbourne and Geelong, probably worth researching this!

Disappointed
I found this story a bit hard to follow at first with no apparent connection between the two time frames. Australian accents a bit grating and mispronunciation of Australian place names quite irritating.

Narrator
once again great story but beyond awful narration.
Is PMay to tight to spend the cash on an actual Australian?
He keeps incorporating Australians into his stories but as an Aussie it's insulting to hear that pathetic accent and very wrong pronunciations of our language. get it right please

Research needed for correct pronunciations
Enjoyed the book overall but was disappointed that the narrator had not researched the correct pronunciations for Melbourne and Geelong. Especially since these cities were mentioned many times. Geelong (as in the gee gees), not Gheelong. It unfortunately grated on my ears. However, overall, the book was good.

nicely woven
Good story. Lost track of what was going on now and then but that's the disadvantage of audio over a book. And yes I can understand not knowing the pronunciation of Geelong but Melbourne? not one editor or producer watches the Aus Open or Melbourne Grand Prix?! anyway, a minor irritation that didn't really interfere with a rollercoaster read. I found the Pugh element odd, hopefully that's not a continuing thread? Fun ending!

Great story, very average narrator
The Australian accents are inappropriate - he makes the city dwelling student stockbroker sound an illiterate country bumpkin; and has made no attempt to find out how to pronounce place names.
Much prefer the narrator of previous books in this series

Terrible narration
The narrator should never, ever attempt an Australian accent. It was horrific! At least learn how to pronounce Australian place names. It's not that hard. Apart from the appalling narration, the story was okay.
