David Winkle is a 15-year-old high school freshman who has been dealt enough short straws to crush even the strongest of camels. After months of listening to his parents' constant fighting and then his dad's eventual abandonment, the last thing Dave wants is to listen to someone drone on about God's so-called love. Fortunately for Dave, God has ways of getting people to listen.
When an angel appears and tells Dave he must go on a quest to stop the prince of evil from destroying the world, the reluctant champion must quickly come to terms with the idea that it could all be true. As Dave struggles to follow the path that God has laid for him, he learns many invaluable lessons from his scripture-quoting guardian angel.
Along the way, Dave makes a few friends that help him understand the true meaning of God's love and agree to stand with him in his struggle against the enemies of our Father's house.
