About this listen
A city in fear. A killer searching for justice. A cop who gets too close to the truth.
When a high-profile murder lands literally at her feet, Detective Emilia Hart sees a chance to expand her caseload beyond the endless succession of domestic violence she is forced to investigate. But this is no simple investigation.
Another body, turns up, then another. Then more - a lot more. All men, all shot with a similar MO. It's not until a manifesto taking credit for the crimes is published by a group calling themselves Daughters of Eve that Hart confirms a link between the victims. All of them had been perpetrators themselves. All had offended against women or children. Few had been charged with those crimes - and none convicted.
As panic sets in and chaos rules the streets, the police draw ever closer to the Daughters of Eve, but the serial killer continues to elude them. Again, Hart sees something that everyone else has missed. And what that is, she cannot believe.
A stunning debut that will take you to the edge and dare you to look down.

Highly recommended
This is a must listen. The narrator was easy to listen which is very important for me when listening to audible. The story had me hooked right from the start. I look forward to the next book from Nina D. Campbell.

More than a 'who done it'
Feisty female protaganist with woke probes into corporate, social, political and domestic spheres. Entertains! Satisfies! But is also deadly serious. (Trigger warning for DV and child abuse.)

The story resonates with so many women, and spatks a desire for change. The narrator did a wonderful job and I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Romantic scenes made me cringe.
I loved the idea for this story but it was filled with so many cringeworthy parts.
The love interests pushy behaviour really seems to contradict what the main character stands for. So that made no sense to me.
All in all it wasn’t a bad book but I would have preferred to see a little more crime drama and a little less romance.
