Lotte Betke, geb. 1905 in Hamburg, war eine deutsche Schriftstellerin und Theaterschauspielerin. Bereits als junges Mädchen schrieb Lotte Betke Gedichte und begeisterte sich für Theaterprojekte. Nach ihrem Schulabschluss besuchte sie eine Schauspielschule in Hamburg und war danach zunächst an deutschen Bühnen in Hamburg und Berlin engagiert. Während des 2. Weltkrieges musste Betke das Theaterspielen aufgeben und widmete sich fortan wieder dem Schreiben.
Bis zu ihrem Tod 2008 schrieb Lotte Betke Theaterstücke, Gedichte, Hörspiele und Erzählungen für Kinder und Jugendliche - Ihr Thema waren die Randfiguren der Gesellschaft, denen sie starke Rollen im Leben zusprach.©2017 SAGA Egmont (P)2017 SAGA Egmont
