About this listen

Once I was a fae princess with sea-magic at my fingertips. Now? I’m a hunted supernatural in a squalid shop, stripped of my power. My only comforts are stale cookies, Elvis records, and my hula-hoop. Then a lethally sexy fae king arrives and rips even those away.

After the brutal king throws me in prison, I strike a bargain with him: my freedom in exchange for helping him find a magic blade. What Lyr doesn’t know is that the blade might restore my stolen magic.

But as we journey, the gorgeous jerk starts to make me feel things I’ve never felt. When Lyr touches me, desire ignites. I see raging passion in his eyes too. If I give in, I risk losing my chance at reclaiming my power…and, even worse, I could be forfeiting my life.

Horrible fake brit narration

I loved this story but was put off by the narrators attempt of a male British accent .. it made me cringe every time .. the tone change of to his voice was vile too.. very unsexy . I couldn’t finish listening to it on audible .. changed to actually reading the book .

Excellent narrative, story just ok

I absolutely love Justine eyre as a narrator, she knows how to bring the characters to life. The story started really strongly and got me hooked, but the last third felt lacking. There doesn’t feel like there’s much suspense or anticipation of what’s next. The story ended almost as if it were a standalone, rather than a series. It does indicate at what the next book will be about, but unfortunately it’s not enough to entice me too book 2.

***Brilliant, thrilling***

Seeing Justine Eyre being the narrator alone made me to download this Audiobook, she is an exceptional narrator.
The story is intense, thrilling and have many unforgettable characters that you can love and relate too.

Please stop calling lusty people ripe 😒

I kind of liked this book kinda hated it. Some of it was pretty interesting, other parts were eyeroll worthy. I liked the way the main character abhorred sexist slurs and distain of women in positions of powerlessness. Some of the writing seemed a bit simplistic or undercut itself.

The same drawling 'English acccent' for most of the characters was fairly irritating and made it hard to distinguish personality from even the different villains to the 'anti-hero' ankhu jerk they all sounded the same. I enjoyed some of it but didn't think it was particularly good. Not really interested in following up the sequal. Thanks for the read I guess.
