Tim Watson-Munro
About this listen
The extraordinary memoir of a man who has spent his working life looking into the eyes of modern evil.
As Australia's most distinguished criminal psychologist, 'Doc' Tim Watson-Munro has assessed over 30,000 'persons of interest' in some of the nation's most notorious court cases, including Hoddle Street gunman Julian Knight, corporate fraudster Alan Bond, Melbourne gangster Alphonse Gangitano and, in recent years, Australia's first terrorist convicts.
But the frontline of psychology is no place for the faint-hearted. Tim's pioneering methods and proximity to evil made him front page news but also led him to a devastating personal crossroads - first wife gravely ill, second wife pregnant, best mate betraying him to the cops, $2,000-a-week drug habit spiralling out of control, brilliant career and hard-won reputation in crisis.
Tim's descent into the maelstrom is a candid, funny, frightening odyssey, offering unique insight into not only the nature of addiction, but also the lives and minds of the psychopaths we share our world with.
After all, when you're dancing with demons, it takes one to know one.

Raw and honest
Well narrated, autobiographical title. Watson-Munroe gives a tell all of his life, where he takes responsibility for his downfall and recovery. An easy listen and recommended for anybody interested in psychology or Australian true crime.

Addictive and fascinating from start to end
Tim has outdone my expectations, I knew it would be good, but this book was fascinating, relatable, gripping and rawly, unapologetically, himself. I would recommend this to anyone, what a self aware, honest account of one of the most interesting men in this country. There needs to be more people like Tim, honest, humble, and responsible for his own choices, good and bad. What a great book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A great listen!
An intense life story with the highest of highs and lowest of lows. A candid insight to a professional's perspective with the real life battle of addiction.
Very well narrated. David was the perfect choice for this (and many other!) books.
This story will linger with me for quite a while.

Dancing with Demons
We all have our 'demons' whether or not we consciously accept them is another thing.
Tim's life was in the spot light and life's 'rolling of the dice', caused pain, stress and trauma any human would find difficult. His honesty and confrontation of his behaviours and his accountability is applaudable. Tims loyalty and love for his family make him truely admirable. I love David Tredinnick's narration!

Very honest
Really enjoyed this book. A lot of the areas in Melbourne I knew so I could relate very easy.
