Publisher's Summary

Following on the heels of his successful book on grandfatherhood (Grandpa Rules), veteran comedy writer Michael Milligan set his sights on the joys and stresses of fatherhood. A response to all those dad books full of empty platitudes and hokey lessons, Dad Rules is a book for the hip dad who can use a laugh (if not a drink) at the end of another trying day with his kids.

A perfect gift for the dads in your life, this book is laugh-out-loud funny and offers useful insights and tips on how to embrace the world's greatest job. It includes:

  • Tips on what to really expect when you're expecting
  • How to survive on two hours of sleep a night
  • The joys of dropping the kids off at Grandma's
  • How to babysit and watch football at the same time
  • And much more!

Editorial reviews

Any father worth his weight in diapers is sure to recognize something of himself in this collection of stories, delivered in performer Oliver Wyman's pleasant baritone. From the delivery room to the college dorm and beyond, there's plenty of wit, wisdom, and charm in these fictional, but clearly inspired-by-real-life, tales. Unlike the newer breed of foul-mouthed parenting humor books, the jokes in Dad Rules stay on the gentle side, and the stories sometimes turn poignant. A great listen for new dads or dads-to-be who need a mood-lifter and eye-opener.
