About this listen
The first book of D Day Through German Eyes has fascinated listeners around the world with its insight into the German experience of June 6, 1944. Now, book 2 contains a completely different set of astonishing German testimonies from the same archive.
These newly translated eyewitness statements by German veterans show the defenders to be determined but psychologically insecure, often deluded in their thinking, and all too human in their shock at the onslaught they faced. These unique interviews with German soldiers are a historical treasure trove of new insights, heart-stopping combat stories, and glimpses of wartime psychology that will absorb anyone with an interest in WW2.

Very interesting listen.
Presents a point of view you just don't see.
If there's a third book I'll be listening to it for sure.

may be fake but is still enjoyable
this could be fake considering the terms each interviewer says are similar.... like "my God" and "absolutely x and x" and "like dogs" this is used over and over, but its still enjoyable, plus in terms of actual combat even if these people are made up im sure there's plenty of veterans that are alive or those who didn't make it that can relate perfectly to these stories

A must listen too.
It always good to hear about how things were from the other side to understand more fully the whole situation and what the common Soldier went through.

More of the same... which is a good thing
If you enjoyed the first book, you will also enjoy this one. The format is the same and the interviews are as captivating, with different aspects expanding nicely on the revelations of the first book.
it is not necessary to have listened to the first book first, however you might as well if you haven't already.

Gripping and disturbing
An unmissable insight into the minds, experiences and beliefs of the Germans who opposed the allies on and after the D-Day landings. Well worth the listen to this second instalment of the German accounts, though be prepared for some confronting beliefs and topics.
